CENTRAL CALIFORNIA AFRICAN VIOLET SOCIETY
Welcome! We look forward to seeing you!
SOCIETY: The Central California African Violet Society is a club devoted to promoting the growing of African violets and related gesneriads. Its purpose is to give helpful information and practical aid to all interested growers, and to provide a means for meeting and exchanging ideas, leaves and plants. The meetings are held on the third Monday of each month (except June, July, and December) in the evening.
Please check the sidebar on our website www.fresnoviolets.org for the latest information on our meeting place.
ANNUAL SHOW: During the spring of each year the society sponsors a judged show, and awards prizes to the top entries in horticulture and design.
PLANT SALES: The society sponsors plant sales with dozens of varieties available. Advanced notice of the location for the sale is published in our newsletter, on the website, and in local media.
NEWSLETTER: A monthly newsletter is sent to all society members. It contains information about our meetings, activities, and the culture of African violets.
PROGRAMS: Guest speakers may be from the society or brought in from other areas, or we may view
DVDs put out by AVSA. Topics include the latest hybrids, violet culture, related gesneriads and violets in design. Refreshments are provided. Raffles or auctions take place periodically.
YEARBOOK: The society publishes a yearbook giving the names and addresses of all current members, a list of programs, club library books available and cultural information.
LIBRARY: The society maintains a library, which is available to the members. The library contains the national African Violet Magazine, in addition to books on all areas of growing and show
